Painted Panoceania ORC HMG

Back in February I posted an article about converting an Operation Icestorm sculpt ORC to have a HMG, specifically using an alternative method to the simple Aquila Guard HMG arm swap. Infinity has taken a back seat to Guild Ball at the gaming club, consequently my drive to paint Infinity models has sadly diminished. That was unto I found out what the Q3 Mayacast Masterglass theme was, and suddenly the urge to paint that HMG armed ORC Heavy Infantry model returned. Thank you Mayacast!

Infinity: Panoceania ORC Trooper with HMG conversion

panoceania-orc-troops-n3-vyo

I have had the majority of parts for these conversions knocking around for a while. I have just not bothered to do anything with them. However I feel I should do at least two things with those parts:

  1. Write a blog post as its been way too long since anything of real substance was posted on this blog 😉
  2. Convert them before Corvus Belli actually get round to releasing their official sculpts. Continue reading

Infinity Terrain: TT Combat Objective Room

ttcombat_objective_room_01

I thought I would write-up a little post about some terrain i did quickly for the tournament I went to back around Halloween. It was bought on a whim really, as i currently don’t have any gaming space at home…yet. The TO for the Halloween event asked if any of us had Objective Room scenery that we could bring. So I volunteered to get this built for the event rather than build and paint my own lists 😉 As I was pressed for time, I thought I would try to get it built and painted to an OK standard as fast as I could.

Halloween Jack

I was supposed to be out playing a game of Guild Ball tonight, unfortunately my opponent couldn’t make it. So instead, I managed to get an evening of painting with no distractions.

My proxy Infinity HVT mentioned in my last post was the model of choice, Halloween Jack.

Here he is, ink wash still drying on his jacket.

The base needs tidying up, but other than maybe another highlight of the pumpkin head, to define the facial features more, I think he’s done.

October Infinity Update

Today’s blog post is less about painting progress and more about painting anticipation. I’m excited because I pre-ordered myself a copy of “Painting Miniatures from A to Z, Masterclass Volume 2” by Ángel Giráldez today.

When I first started dabbling with Infinity at the start of 2015 I pre-ordered Volume 1. If you look at my other painted models on this blog I think you’ll see that pre-infinity I had a fairly dark painting style, especially in my choice of colours. Infinity with its bright clean look seemed rather daunting. So when I realised there was a painting guide being produced by Corvus Belli’s in house painter, I figured a look behind the scenes would be an excellent idea. Continue reading

Infinity: Mayacast’s Link Teams Episodes HSN3 Update

LinkTeamPics

A couple of months ago the guys on Mayacast Podcast went through the link teams available for each Sectorial army. With the release of Human Sphere N3 there has been some changes to the link teams available as well as new links within Sectorials and a new Sectorial army too…Onyx Cotact Force. Tom and Kip of Mayacast have updated their information of each Sectorial. As i had a previous post listing the time stamps for the old shows, I thought I would post up the new time stamps.

Infinity Templates

Horwick_RMI_table_cropped

Infinity uses templates to determine various effects on models or defining particular areas of the table. Just like many table top wargames. There are a number of manufacturers out there that produce templates for Infinity, both official partners to Corvus Belli and not those not endorsed by CB. Here is a few retailers, in no particular order:

Corvus Belli themselves supplies templates to print free. You can print out templates and markers from the Downloads section of the Infinity website. Also if you bought one of the large starter sets such as Operation Icestorm you’ll have some card stock templates. While the US Ariadna Army Pack came with a card circular template and both sizes of teardrop templates. Card is perfectly fine, but it’s more useful to have a more durable set of templates. So I thought I would design my own set of templates and get them laser cut by Cog ‘O’ Two.

Infinity: Mayacast’s Link Teams Episodes

LinkTeamPics

As a new comer to Infinity I have been keeping things simple for myself playing with a vanilla Panoceanic force. For two reasons really:

1, only playing with painted models, which as you can see from this blog is a slow process for me 😉

2, as I have been using a limited set of models it has kept learning the game rules pretty straight forward. As the number of special rules interactions has been kept to a minimum.

Now I have gained some confidence with the basic rules I am looking to expand out from vanilla Pano lists, and I am itching to paint some of the other gorgeous models in the Infinity range. The most obvious way to do this is to pick a Sectorial Army to play. This gives a limited set of models to pick from (for collecting purposes 😉 )and introduces the link team rules.

One of the Infinity related podcasts I listen to, Mayacast, has just finished a series of episodes covering the link teams available to each Sectorial list.

As there are quite a few Sectorial lists and hence a large number of different link teams I thought I’d  post up the timestamps for each Sectorial in each episode in case others are interested in listening to the Sectorial list of their choice. Continue reading
