Weathered? More like beaten and battered

Quick update on the Devastator…

I experimented with a different technique for the weathering of the jack. I would normally use ‘the hairspray technique’ but I thought I would experiment with some liquid mask this time round.
To be honest it is only the method of creating the paint chips that differs. Instead of dissolving the hairspary/chipping fluid with water while rubbing the paint with a paint brush. You rub off the masking fluid after you have painted the top coat of paint. This is the stuff I used:

I dabbed it on with a broken sponge, although as it turns out I was over enthusiastic doing this part. As when it came to rubbing off the masking fluid after painting it removed too much paint for my taste. Here is how the Devastator currently looks…

Still a little way to go, so I shall reserve final judgment until then.
