Can I get a caster painted this month?

July Painting Challenge

Well it seems like a good idea to set myself a challenge this month. There a a few reasons for this which I’ll go into in a minute.  However the model i have chosen for this month is a Privateer Press model from their Warmachine range:

So why am I going to do this?

Well there are 3 reasons:

  1. I am notorious at my gaming club for not finishing painting/modelling projects
  2. My gaming club are running a league over the next 3 months (starts tonight in fact), which I intend to play and paint up my Khador models. I do not like playing with unpainted models, so at the very least I’ll have a caster painted up for it.
  3. “Tale of 2014” painting challenge on the PP Forums, I have painted about 21pts of models so far this year but I have used up both of my GOoPF (Get Out of Painting Free) cards around the time of my son’s birth. I have never completed one of the “Tale of…” challenges yet, and I really want to achieve it this year.
  4. Lost Hemisphere have a “Paint The Target” challenge, so I may as well kill two birds with one stone and enter this completed model for it. I have seen the Paint the Target challenge and have always wanted to enter but never actually completed a model for it.

Well it seems I can’t count, but reason 1 should actually be reason zero as it is so ingrained into my being, and like a bad habit should be got rid of. That and reasons 3 and 4 are so similar they could be classed under the same umbrella.

Anyway this is what the model looks like at the start of July, I’ll post further images of my progress as I go.
