Ja..February look back at 2023

Jeepers where has the year gone? Good job its a leap year, otherwise it’d be March. There is loads of stuff I’ve done, well started, hobby wise that hasn’t made it onto the blog. Here follows a quick photo dump run down. Its gotta be quick its 35 mins to March.

I am pretty sure the Brutefun Lizardmen Bloodbowl team made it onto the blog. Some more painting of those guys got done, but no where near finished as a team.

The old Splayedhammer Quest project briefly saw teh light of day under a new cunning plan to 3D print the tiles.

Epic Horus Heresy – sorry Legions Imperialis – came along, but was then delayed. I started printing stuff for Legions.

And painting!!

But i got tempted by other legions.

Then there was a batty idea to get my son playing WH40k, he has some Space Marines, i figured i’d paint an enemy for them to destroy. So Tyranids briefly happened.

Till i realised my sanity couldnt possible paint a Nid force. So i painted some Orks instead.

Did i ever mention the plan to make teh crystal glow in the Warcry terrain temple? Well i at least got a design knocked up in Tinkercad and printed out in clear blue resin.

FDM printers: I sold my Ender 3, and bought a Bambulabd P1S. Oh my god was this a game changer. I got some Warganizer stuff and have printed more FDM in the last couple of months than in the years I’ve had the Ender3. Paint racks to try and tidy up my hobby area (i’d actually need a miracle there).

And carry cases for models. This one is themed for a Brutefun Vampire Bloodbowl team (actually i’m missing photos of teh team – obviously they will have to make an appearance in 2024).

I also wanted to give a friend something for Christmas, so I made a second Warganizer case with a more obvious Bloodbowl theme. I actually really like how that turned out. I think I need to go back and make myself another logo side wall.

The printers come in handyu for more than just models occasionally. Some rather cheap looking Christmas trees appeared from somewhere for the kids’ rooms. One only had two legs. So i knocked one up in Tinkercad and printed it out (got it right on the second attempt 😉 ).

And printed lithophones make great presents for your parents when you haven’t got a clue what to get them for Christmas.

Printed some more Legions models. Then decided to paint the actual ones i’d purchased…in a yet another legions scheme.

Finally the Old World released and square bases are back. Some might say they never went anywhere. So i came up with a mad scheme to print and paint a couple of 15mm armies to learn to play WHTOW with.

Three minutes to go before March. No time to spell check just hit publish!!!!
